This tour departs early from Cairns, where you will travel to over 900 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level into the world heritage listed Mabi rainforest. Here you are able to view and photograph deep green, rolling dairy pastures, valley gorges, and the fertile red basalt soils within this unique, tropical area of Far North Queensland.
Photograph rare and endangered plant species, including some giant trees that are over 1,000 years old. Observe unique and endangered native fauna in their natural environment such as the rare tree kangaroo, cassowary, platypus and hundreds of species of colourful songbirds.
Experience the serenity of once active volcanic crater lakes. Feel the cool spray upon your face from one of the many waterfalls we visit, including Queensland’s most photographed waterfall, Millaa Millaa Falls. Created many thousands of years ago from ancient lava flow. Enjoy an optional swim in one of the many cool refreshing mountain rivers and streams.
Enjoy local homemade cuisine (prepared especially according to your dietary requirements), and experience the pleasure of not being rushed as we customise your tour to suit your individual needs, whether as a group or a family. While on the road, enjoy temperature controlled air-conditioned comfort between destinations.
Pick up and return to your hotel accommodation included in pricing.
